Senior Platform Engineer

Senior Platform Engineer  – Platform engineer, Devops, DevSecOps, Javascript, HTML, CSS, Kubernetes, Docker Enterprise and VMWare, Hybrid, London, £75-£90K

Our end user client is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join their Product Development team. This person will have a passion for technology and will deliver across a number of complex and varied technology projects requiring continual innovation and collaboration with key stakeholders to provide global solutions that meet all business and stakeholder requirements.

This is a hybrid role and require 2-3 days on site in London

Key responsibilities

• Technical delivery across a number of applications, cloud-based platforms underpinning the company’s bespoke line of business and corporate applications outside of North America.
• Build relationships across the various technology and business teams to share platform strategy and solutions in line with business needs and objectives.
• Execute the global Technology strategy and fiscal year budgetary plans.
• Continually enhance, design, architect, operate, secure and support the application and platform environments to the company’s demanding service level agreements, standards and operating practices.

Skills and experience

• API, Microservices, Application Platform and Database Management, and Project and Release Management.
• A thorough understanding of DevOps and DevSecOps.
• Scaled Agile / SAFe methodology.
• Comfortable with monitoring and security solutions deployments.
• Cloud migration design, deployments, and automation.
• Enjoy test-driven development and believe testing is integral to developing high-quality code.
• JavaScript and Node.js, for both front-end apps and back-end services.
• 5+ years coding experience preferably in JavaScript, HTML, or CSS.
• 5+ years of industry experience with Cloud technologies.
• 5+ years of experience with orchestration, hypervisor and virtualisation solutions such as Kubernetes, Docker Enterprise and VMWare.
• Comfortable working in an agile environment using SCRUM or Kanban.
• You operate effectively as part of a team and autonomously.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related

field; or equivalent work experience.

Location:  London & Remote (hybrid role)

Candidates must be eligible to work in this country.
