One of our leading London based clients is looking to recruit a UX/UI Designer to be responsible for designing user experiences and user interfaces across the business’s online channels, including websites, chatbots, portals, and apps. You will work alongside product managers and owners, as part of multi-disciplinary teams, to research, design and deliver effective and usable digital products and experiences. You will also be responsible for maintaining and developing their unified design system.

This role is an initial 3-month contract and will be predominantly home based with one day a fortnight on site in central London.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Experienced in designing high-quality websites, apps, and other digital products and customer service experiences.
  • Experience in deliverables such as storyboards, journey maps, mock-ups, and prototypes.
  • Proven ability to design and optimise multi-channel customer journeys.
  • Comfortable using the Design tools, Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Understands HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and common web development frameworks.
  • Experience delivering digital products on a modern technology stack (MACH architecture Microservices-based, API-first, Cloud-native, and Headless).
  • Understands atomic design principles, has experience creating and working with design systems.
  • Experience using web analytics tools and data to understand user behaviour and identify opportunities to improve them.
  • Able to analyse and interpret mixed research outputs, generate actionable insights, and communicate them effectively.
  • Able to apply an agile mind-set to all aspects of work, uses iterative methods to enable rapid delivery.
  • Degree or equivalent experience/certification in a relevant field like Interaction Design, User Experience Design

Responsibilities

  • Develop coherent design proposals that address customer needs and solve business problems.
  • Apply best practice user experience and interaction design principles and consider business and marketing priorities.
  • Present appropriate design solutions to stakeholders. Illustrate early design concepts using storyboards, journey maps, mock-ups, and prototypes. Validate with users, gather stakeholder feedback, review technical feasibility, and iterate toward a shared solution concept.
  • Translate agreed requirements into high-fidelity user interface designs and specifications.
  • Work closely with the Software Engineering team to finalise requirements, refine designs in development, and create appropriate test scripts.
  • Contribute to the evolution and integrity of our unified multi-brand design system.
  • Gather user insights and input from relevant business and marketing stakeholders, build cross-team consensus around requirements, collaborate with engineers to design new and improved components.

Location: London hybrid
