Our client is looking for an experienced Desktop Support Specialist to join their team. In this role, you’ll be the go-to person for troubleshooting technical issues, supporting both Mac and Windows environments and ensuring Office 365 applications run seamlessly. You’ll also work with Freshservice as the main ITSM platform to manage requests and keep IT operations running efficiently.

This position will be a remote role with expectancy to travel to Hungary on occasions for the first 1-2 months of the role. Candidates will need to speak fluent English with ideally German or Hungarian language skills being beneficial.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in desktop or IT support.
  • Solid knowledge of Windows 10/11 and macOS.
  • Strong experience with Office 365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools – Freshservice preferred, but ServiceNow or Zendesk also considered.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, group policies and account management.
  • Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi).
  • Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.

Desirable Skills

  • German or Hungarian language skills
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft.
  • Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash) for automation tasks.
  • Exposure to ITIL frameworks.
  • Experience with mobile device management (MDM) solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

End-User Support

  • Deliver Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices and peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Windows and macOS systems.
  • Install, configure, and update hardware, software and drivers.
  • Manage IT support tickets through Freshservice, ensuring timely responses and accurate documentation.
  • Assist with Office 365 tools such as Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.

System Administration & Maintenance

  • Manage user accounts, permissions and groups in Active Directory and Office 365.
  • Configure and maintain endpoint security, including antivirus, encryption and patch management.
  • Perform routine updates, patches and system hardening.
  • Support remote access and VPN connectivity.

IT Operations

  • Log, monitor and close incidents and requests in line with SLAs.
  • Maintain accurate hardware and software inventory records.
  • Contribute to IT knowledge base articles and user documentation.
  • Support new starters and leavers with device setup, access and account management.

Collaboration & Projects

  • Work closely with infrastructure, networking and security teams on escalations and projects.
  • Assist with desktop refreshes, software deployments and technology upgrades.
  • Suggest and implement improvements to IT processes to enhance the end-user experience.
