Our professional services client require a BI Engineer to help them move core financial reporting from D365 to Azure Data Lake. For this role it is essential that candidates have experience/knowledge across D365, Azure Date Lake and Data Bricks.

The role will typically involve 2 days per week on-site in London and has been deemed inside IR35.

Key Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience building ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks SQL.
  • Strong understanding of the D365/F&O data schema (e.g., GeneralJournalAccountEntry, CustInvoiceJour, TaxData).
  • Strong experience with ADLS Gen2, Azure Synapse Link, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Kimbal-style data warehousing (Facts and Dimensions).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Architect and maintain the bridge between D365 and the Data Lake
  • Use Databricks to develop the architecture to handle high volumes of transactional data.
  • Replicate and enhance legacy OLAP cube logic by designing Star Schemas and Delta Tables optimized for Power BI.
  • Translate complex D365 accounting concepts (General Ledger entries, Tax settlements, Sub-ledger reconciliations) into scalable code.
  • Optimize Databricks clusters and partition strategies to ensure financial reports refresh quickly
