D365 F&O Consultant – Subscription Billing

D365 F&O Consultant – D365 F&O, Finance & Operations, Dynamics365, Subscription Billing, Revenue Recognition, Finance, Financials, Functional Consultant – $100-110ph – US Remote

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations consultant to support a major transition from the legacy Revenue Recognition functionality to D365 Subscription Billing.

The successful consultant will assess the existing solution, define the transition approach and help the business migrate its billing and revenue processes safely. A particularly important aspect of the project will be determining how bundled products—made up of several underlying items—should be managed within the new Subscription Billing functionality.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Strong functional knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
• Hands-on experience with D365 Subscription Billing.
• Good understanding of revenue recognition and recurring or contract-based billing processes.
• Experience planning or delivering a transition from legacy Revenue Recognition functionality to Subscription Billing.
• Ability to understand finance requirements and translate them into an effective D365 solution.
• Experience assessing complex existing configurations and identifying migration and cutover risks.
• Strong stakeholder-management, problem-solving and documentation skills.
• Ability to lead a workstream independently while collaborating with internal functional and technical teams.

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead the transition from D365’s legacy Revenue Recognition functionality to Subscription Billing.
• Review the existing billing, contract and revenue-recognition configuration.
• Define a practical migration strategy, delivery plan and cutover approach.
• Identify functional and technical risks associated with the transition and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Assess how bundled or composite products should be configured and processed within Subscription Billing.
• Ensure the proposed solution supports the organisation’s existing billing and revenue-accounting requirements.
• Work with finance, IT and other stakeholders to gather requirements and document future-state processes.
• Support configuration, testing, data validation, issue resolution and deployment.
• Help design integrations that bring supplier and accounts-payable invoice data from AX and other ERP platforms into D365 F&O.
• Define data mappings, interface requirements, validation rules and exception-handling processes.
• Collaborate with the internal integrations team responsible for developing and maintaining integration processes.
• Produce clear solution documentation and transfer knowledge to the internal D365 team.
