Our financial services client are seeking an experiencedGroup Financial Controller to play a key role in the consolidation of entities into a group accounting function.
Required Skills & Experience
- Controllership Experience: Proven experience in a financial controllership role, ideally within a group or multi-entity environment.
- Consolidation Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience with financial consolidation, including the elimination of intercompany transactions and minority interests.
- Technical Accounting: Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify trends or discrepancies.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead a team and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
- Qualifications: A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, CIMA, ACCA) is essential for this role.
- System Knowledge: Proficient in financial reporting and consolidation software.
Responsibilities
- Group Consolidation: Lead the consolidation of financial statements for all group entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Process Unification: Develop and implement standardized accounting policies, processes, and systems to streamline the consolidation and reporting process across all subsidiaries.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review all group-level financial reports, including monthly management accounts, statutory financial statements, and ad-hoc reports for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Technical Accounting: Provide expert guidance on complex accounting issues, including business combinations, intercompany transactions, and foreign currency translation.
- Audit Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, managing the group-level audit process and ensuring all required documentation is provided.
Location: (UK-based) with 1-2 days a week on client site
